Jessica began training dogs professionally in 2011, working as a trainer and behavior assessor in shelters before starting her own company Go Pawsitive.  She completed a multi-year internship with trainer Pat Miller and worked as a lead trainer for Pat’s Peaceable Paws and assistant at Pat’s Dog Training Instructor Academies.  Having competed in NACSW with her Australian Shepherd Cassie and her reactive GSD-mix Handel and witnessing the improvement the K9 Nose Work® method fostered in their behavior, Jessica began the Nose Work Instructor Certification program in 2013, becoming a CNWI in 2014.  Since then, Jessica has taught classes using the K9 Nose Work method across the Eastern Panhandle of WV and Western Maryland, coaching clients from Intro through Summit level.   Currently, Jessica teaches classes out of her farm in Clear Spring, MD and several dog training facilities around Washington County, MD, as well as competing with her Aussies Penny (NW3 Elite) and Elle.

When not working with dogs, Jessica competes in Dressage with her Draft crosses and breeds Indian Runner Ducks for exhibition.
