Laurel Scarioni runs Pawsitive Results Dog Training in Sonoma County, CA. She has been a professional dog trainer and behavior consultant since 2003 and worked as an Animal Control Officer and Animal Shelter Supervisor prior to that. She teaches K9 Nose Work, obedience, and puppy socialization classes and offers private lessons for behavior problems including fear and aggression. Laurel has a master’s degree in Educational Psychology, a Certificate in Behavior Counseling from the SFSPCA’s Academy for Dog Trainers, graduated with honors from the Marin Humane Society’s Advanced Dog Training Academy, and has been a Certified Nose Work Instructor since 2010. Laurel also teaches classes for Bergin University of Canine Studies’ AS, BS, and MS degree programs. She has taught courses including scent detection, service dog training, dog law, and shelter dog training.
In addition to teaching weekly nose work classes, Laurel has also conducted workshops across the country and has taught at several K9 Nose Work camps. She is also a Supervising/Elite Certifying Official and oversees the Trial Coordinating Department for NACSW. Laurel competes in K9 Nose Work with her own dogs, including competing at the Elite level and at two National Invitationals. Laurel loves watching teams have fun together and feels it is an honor to get to set up searches for teams around the country as a Certifying Official.
