The Founders of K9 Nose Work: Ron Gaunt, Amy Herot and Jill Marie O’Brien, pioneered bringing detection dog style of training to all dogs, regardless of breed, age, or temperament. They created a system of training that modified the concepts of professional detection dog training so that they would apply to companion dogs and their owners, not just professional dogs and handlers. 

Early on, the Founders held workshops and seminars across the country for dog lovers interested in the exciting new activity of K9 Nose Work.  As demand grew, the Founders realized the importance of having a standard for this new style of training and implemented an Instructor Certification Program, so that anyone wanting to participate in K9 Nose Work was assured to receive instruction from a qualified source.  Today, the number of Certified Nose Work Instructors continues to grow every year.
