Megan has been passionate about dogs her entire life.  Her first word was dog! She started to become interested in training and competition as a pre-teen, and acquired her first Border Collie as a 12 year old. From there, her journey of living with and learning about dogs truly began. Learning from some incredible mentors throughout her teen and young adult years, Megan entered the dog training profession with a wide breadth of knowledge. She has spent the majority of her life working with, living with, learning from, and teaching others about dogs!

In 2010, Megan was exposed to the growing sport of K9 Nose Work, which ended up being a perfect fit for her and her dogs. Despite her history in dog sports growing up, she didn’t start competing right away, giving her a perspective on the value of the activity as so much more than a sport. She attended the first Nose Work Camp at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, CO in 2013, and has attended every one offered in Colorado since then (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023)! She became a Certified Nose Work Instructor in 2017, and has had students excelling in every level of competition up to Elite. She became an NACSW Certifying Official in 2023.

Megan is the proud owner of NoCo Unleashed, a facility in Loveland, CO dedicated to helping people and dogs build stronger relationships through both Nose Work and the Control Unleashed training system. She is a Certified Control Unleashed Instructor, as well as a mentor for that certification program. She and her team offer a variety of training opportunities both in person and virtually. Megan lives in Loveland with her husband, James, and their 4 dogs, a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Fawkes, and three Border Collies, Mia, Lucy, and Han Solo.
