Shelley Smith is the founder of K-9 Enterprises and a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) and Certifying Official (CO), under K9 Nose Work and the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW). Shelley is also a Pet Partners Evaluator.
She began her Nose Work training with the Founders in 2006 in Long Beach, California, and has been involved in Nose Work classes since their inception.
Shelley moved to Oregon in August 2008 because of her love of the area and the culture. She introduced this dog sport to Oregon and has loved to share the techniques, knowledge and fun with all of the fabulous dog teams here through classes, workshops and trials. Shelley returned to California January 2020 and lives in Glendora, CA.
Shelley has trained and/or competed in both the K9 and Equestrian fields in agility, obedience, studio training, therapy work, K9 crisis response, freestyling and hunter jumping. She has two Golden Retrievers; Tilly (level Elite Champion) and Timbre (level Elite).
Shelley enjoys evaluating therapy animal teams as a Pet Partner Evaluator in both the Portland area and presently in the So. California area. She has volunteered with Pet Partners for close to 20 years with her Golden Retrievers and at present, both volunteers and evaluates new and renewing teams for Pet Partners.
Shelley currently teaches K9 Nose Work classes, conducts workshops and demonstrations at various local events in the Los Angeles area (limitations apply do to COVID and safety).
